| Ultrahuman Ring Air – shopper's size and colour | Yes | Seen | Not applicable – stock seen by shopper. |
Q19 asks whether the requested Ultrahuman model was confirmed in stock. The check is done covertly – the shopper looks at the shelf and display and asks staff as a customer. The evidence behind each answer is recorded as Seen by the shopper, Staff-claimed (told it is in stock but not shown) or Not verified with a reason. Only Seen counts as in stock, and the reason field is never left blank.
The shopper stays covert throughout and never reveals who they are. Photos are taken discreetly, without asking, and each is timestamped and geolocated.

An AI model read every shopper comment in this sample (36 visits, 3 free-text questions) and grouped them into themes. An analyst checked the summary against the comments. Counts are visits.
| Theme | Visits | What shoppers reported |
|---|---|---|
| Comfort, weight and no subscription | 20 | Where staff were positive, they sold on comfort for sleep, the light weight and no subscription – the right messages, used consistently. |
| Only mentioned when asked | 21 | Staff led with a competitor and only discussed Ultrahuman after the shopper raised it. Several described it as "similar to the others". |
| Battery-life objection | 3 | Staff claimed the ring "runs out of battery quickly" and switched the shopper to a RingConn – an objection to answer in retail training. |
| Phone-compatibility objection | 2 | Staff called the Samsung ring "safer" for the shopper's phone and steered away from Ultrahuman. |
| Sizing worry | 1 | Staff cited sizing problems and would not recommend Ultrahuman without a try-on, then moved to another brand. |
| Stock only claimed, not shown | 12 | Staff said the Ring Air was in stock ("out the back" or "on the system") but did not show it; a further 7 visits could not confirm stock at all. |
| Demo unit flat | 9 | The demo ring could not be shown, so the conversation stayed on price. |
AI read: the objections are few but specific – battery, phone compatibility and sizing – and each one ends in a switch to a competitor. They are a ready-made brief for retail training. Indifference ("similar to the others") is the bigger volume problem.
